It was really shocking for mid manager fraternity.
By role, the middle management level in an organization is considered to be intermediate management being a coordinator to the senior management and above the lower level junior operational executives. Depending on the company’s policy, they may be considered middle management or may be as non-management staff.
With lot of automation happening in and around day-to-day operations, Management might be thinking to lower the size of Middle management and reorganization the structure of the organization. At the top level, this helps in achieving a company to cut costs which could be running very high by means of downsizing, delayering and outsourcing. The changes may be made as middle management is commonly paid more than junior staff, or the changes may be made to make the organization thinner. By this you would empower the junior employees making the organization more strong and fine tuned to the current situations.
Considering the above factors, there would be lot of scope for the managers to scale up either technically or operationally by upgrading themselves to the required technologies which can be an immediate market requirement elsewhere. This can also work out to be the better option for those who are stagnant at the same place for a long time without a revision in pay scale.
